520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc This book aims to reflect the enormous changes that the specialists of obstetrics and gynaecology have witnessed in the last few years. It provides a comprehensive overview of clinical practice, including topics such as HPV vaccination, female genital mutilation, recurrent miscarriage, vaginal birth after caesarean section, invasive fetal testing and HIV in pregnancy. It is not intended to be an exhaustive textbook, but a primer which provides up-to-date, relevant, evidencebased guidance for clinicians involved in the care of women during pregnancy and childbirth and the care of women with gynaecological disorders. Each topic has been prepared by a specialty trainee in obstetrics and gynaecology or a consultant with expertise in a particular specialist area. Being based in England, the authors have referred to the English legislative and health service frameworks where these have relevance for clinical practice; in other countries there will be differences in detail, but the broad principles will apply. It is an exam revision tool and also facilitates clinical decision making at the point of care. It offers simple, concise explanations in an easily accessible format with extensive cross-referencing.
